David Wiese terribly upset after UAE down Namibia by 7 runs

In yesterday’s match between Namibia and UAE, the latter successfully defended their target as they beat Namibia by 7 runs.

This match ended all of Namibia’s hopes of entering the Super 12s.

David Wiese looked visibly upset after his side could not win the game.

This match has also ensured that the Netherlands and Sri Lanka are the two qualifiers for the Super 12 stage.

However, Wiese fought back hard for his team with a brilliant knock of 55 from 36 balls.

In the first innings, UAE posted a competitive total of 148 for 3 and asked Namibia to chase down 149 runs.

UAE was successful in bringing down Namibia to 141 for 8 in the second innings and closed the game by a narrow margin of 7 runs.

For the UAE, the top scorers were Muhammad Waseem and Chundangapoyil Rizwan who made 50 and 43* respectively.

Wiese’s bowling figures read 1/27 from four overs while Bernard Scholtz and Ben Shikongo also procured a wicket each.

After the match, Namibia remained in the third spot with two points and a net run rate of +0.730 with UAE the bottom-most team in the points table.
