Dinesh Karthik spoke ahead of the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders. The veteran cricketer emphasized the importance of staying grounded after a fantastic win over Mumbai Indians. RCB’s batsmen, Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis, played a vital role in the win with their partnership. Karthik expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance and acknowledged the competitive energy within the group. He believed that the players were determined to win the IPL trophy.

DK said:

“I think there is good nervous energy around the group, which shows we care. We are also keen on not getting too ahead of ourselves, we want to continue the same sort of process and momentum we want to achieve through this IPL.”

2nd month is what really counts: Dinesh Karthik

“IPL, in many ways, you can split it two halves, at the start of the season in the first month, you have to make sure the process is right and not get too ahead of yourself. The 2nd month is where it really counts, you need to make sure you have all guns blazing. It’s the second month you have to carry on with the same energy and that will help you cross the line,”

DK added.

KKR defeated RCB by 81 runs in a match where they scored 204 runs in the first innings. Shardul Thakur played a crucial role in achieving the total by smashing 68 runs off 29 deliveries. RCB could not capitalize on the momentum after a good start with the ball.

Sunil Narine, Varun Chakravarthy and debutant Suyash Sharma led KKR to a comfortable victory by picking up 9 wickets between them. Chakravarthy picked up four wickets and once again entered the IPL Purple Cap race. KKR’s spin trio decimated RCB’s batting unit as they collapsed with the bat in the second innings.
