“Todd Murphy coming in, we know the pitch is dry, Nathan Lyon has done well in Oval over a period of time. So, the obvious change,” said Dinesh Karthik on Sky Sports. “(On Ashwin’s omission from WTC final) I think you should let that go, but I think, ‘Yes, they do’. When they look back at it, that’s one of the biggest regrets they could have.”

The wicketkeeper batsman feels that leaving out R Ashwin in the World Test Championship Final will be the biggest regret for the Indian team. Dinesh Karthik said this during the commentary stint in the Ashes test. However, Ashwin was part of the playing 11 in both the test match against West Indies in West Indies. He also took 15 wickets for the Indian team against the host team. The 15 wickets from Ashwin and the grind from the openers helped the Indian team to win the two-match series 1-0.

The rain on day five of the second test helped the West Indies to avoid the clean sweep in the test series. Furthermore, the Indian team literally crushed the West Indies team in the first test match by finishing the match in three days. The white ball series against the West Indies team has begun for the Indian team. In the first One Day International match India managed to win the match by 5 wickets. Dinesh Karthik compares the inclusion of Todd Murphy in the Australian team.

The seniors of the Indian team Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli gave up their positions to the youngsters. Rohit Sharma batted at No. 7 and Virat Kohli did not come to bat in the first ODI against West Indies.
