Senior India player, Dinesh Karthik has taken a dig at the recovery processes of two of India’s frontline pacers.
During the recent Bangladesh Test series, India did not have the services of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami.
Bumrah injured his back this year and is since under the watchful eye of the BCCI Medical Team.
Shami on the other hand injured his shoulder just before the ODI series against Bangladesh.
Karthik is sure that Bumrah will make a full recovery as he is a more professional cricketer and thorough with himself.
But with Shami, Karthik is not too sure and says that Shami will take a longer time to recover from his injury.
Karthik’s opinions on Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami
Shami and Bumrah are frontline fast bowlers. With Bumrah, yes the recent injury…but I am very confident about his rehab will go. He is a thorough professional. He will be back all guns firing. Bumrah should play a few white ball matches before he comes into Test match cricket, so that his body can take those workloads. For Shami, it’s a big question, because he is somebody who is probably not as professional as a Bumrah when it comes to training. He has had an injury and he’s been injury-struck for some time as well.

And the whole Indian backups have been injured over a period of time for some strange reason. The Indian team and NCA need to align themselves towards how they are going to plan in making sure the players stay fit over a period of time because they have a lot of cricket to play.
India’s next assignment is against Sri Lanka at home with a six-match series starting January 3rd.
The Lankan Lions have announced their squad for the upcoming series while India still has not announced theirs.
