Dinesh Karthik to make comeback as commentator for 2023 Ashes

Dinesh Karthik, the veteran India wicketkeeper-batter, announced his return as a commentator for the 2023 Ashes. The five-match series is going to begin in June, and matches will be held at Edgbaston, Lord’s, Headingley, Old Trafford, and The Oval. Australia won the 2021-22 series 4-0 and are the current Ashes holders.

Sky Sports has included Karthik in their commentary panel for the upcoming Ashes. He indeed joins a prominent lineup of commentators, which includes Michael Atherton, Nasser Hussain, Kevin Pietersen, Eoin Morgan, Mel Jones, Kumar Sangakkara, Mark Taylor, Mark Butcher, Ricky Ponting, Ian Ward, and Andrew Strauss.

DINESH KARTHIK WILL FEATURE THIS IPL FOR RCB

The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is going to start on March 31, ahead of the 2023 Ashes. Gujarat Titans will defend their title against Chennai Super Kings in the tournament opener at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will face five-time champions Mumbai Indians at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on April 2.

In the 2022 IPL, RCB finished in fourth place, having won eight of their 14 matches in the league stage. Karthik scored 330 runs from 16 matches, with an average of 55.00 and a strike rate of 183.33. Consequently, he made his India comeback.

With the 2023 Ashes on the horizon, Karthik’s participation in the IPL is seen as a valuable opportunity for him to hone his skills ahead of the tournament.
