Dream11 becomes the Jersey sponsor for ICT

The fantasy gaming team Dream11 will replace the current jersey sponsor Byjus for the Indian Cricket Team. BCCI released the tender for the Jersey sponsor on June 14th. However, BCCI had another plan of extending Byju’s contract till November. But the plans did not go that way. The contract of Byjus finished in March. From then till now Indian Team did not have a Jersey sponsor to them. The Indian team played the World Test Championship Final without the jersey sponsor. They lost the final against Australia in England.

During the period of Byjus, BCCI earned about Rs 5.50 crore for every match in a bilateral series. Furthermore, the price went down during the ICC Tournament month to 1.70 crore. It is because the teams are not allowed to wear the jersey with sponsors in the ICC events. The current price for Dream11 for this tenure period is INR 358 crore.

BCCI’s statement regarding the fantasy sport flatform

“Real Money Gaming” was on the list of categories that were prohibited. An exception was made for “Fantasy Sports Gaming”.

Some reports said that many industry experts did not show the offer to the BCCI. Therefore, BCCI had to come down from their price to get a deal done , This is how they had a contract with Dream11. It is likely to be a jersey for the Indian team for the West Indies tour to be sponsored by Dream11.
