England Women recently announced their squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup.

They have brought in many new faces to the team this time around. Some of the newcomers are Charlie Dean and Emma Lamb.

They have also selected travelling reserves in the form of Lauren Bell and Mady Villiers.

The fast bowling department will be handled by experienced bowlers such as Kate Cross, Katherine Brunt, Nat Sciver, Anya Shrubsole and Freya Davies, while another seasoned bowler Tash Farrant will join them after two years.

The responsibilities of the spin department will fall on Sophie Ecclestone with the newcomer Dean as the second-choice for the team.

Lamb will be acting as a reserve opener to Tammy Beaumont and Lauren Winfield-Hill.

Maia Bouchier and Sarah Glenn have not formed a part of the squad.

Bouchier did not find a place in the squad while Glenn chose to opt out of the tournament.

England are the defending champions of the Women’s ODI World Cup and will be entering the tournament with a 3-0 loss to Australia in the recently concluded Women’s Ashes.

They will be facing them again on March 5 in Hamilton.
