Faf’s two toughest bowlers have been Saeed Ajmal and Ravindra Jadeja

Royal Challengers Bangalore

South Africa’s former captain, Faf du Plessis recently named two of the toughest bowlers that he has faced in his international career.

While addressing a press conference before the inaugural match between Paarl Royals and MI Cape Town, Faf said that Pakistan’s Saeed Ajmal and India’s Ravindra Jadeja have given him sleepless nights.

Arguably, Faf has been a force to reckon with both in internationals as well as the IPL where he has been part of two franchises which are Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

While speaking about his international career, then Faf has not had a very vast T20I career, but his ODI and Test career has certainly been.

He has played 143 and 69 matches respectively in both formats for the Proteas.

Now, Faf is going to lead the Joburg Super Kings which is owned by his former franchise Chennai Super Kings.

In all, Faf has played 262 international games for the Proteas. Additionally, he also has 8237 runs from just 318 T20I games.

Stats of Faf du Plessis against Ajmal and Jadeja

Firstly, let’s take a look at Faf’s record against Pakistan’s Saeed Ajmal.

When it comes to white-ball cricket, then Faf has faced Ajmal ten times, two in T20Is and eight times in ODIs.

While Ajmal has not been able to dismiss Faf in T20Is, still the latter has scored only 18 runs against him.

On the other hand, in ODIs, Ajmal has been able to dismiss Faf one time and has bowled 92 balls to him.

However, Faf managed to score only 52 runs against the Pakistani bowler.

Secondly, Faf’s ex-CSK teammate Ravindra Jadeja has been lethal toward him in Tests. Faf has scored only 74 runs in 222 balls of Jadeja in 11 matches.

And Jadeja has always had the upper hand against Faf as he has successfully dismissed him four times in these 11 matches.

When it comes to Jadeja, Faf averages only 18.50 in Tests.

For Faf, Virat Kohli is the one person he wants on his team

When asked the question as to which player from another country he would like to have on his team, Faf did not hesitate for a moment and said that he wants Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli. He has stood out for a long time, consistently. He is probably the most consistent among all of them.
