During the 1st ODI between West Indies and India, batter Suryakumar Yadav was seen donning another player’s jersey.
When he came out to bat in the second innings, SKY was wearing keeper-batter, Sanju Samson’s jersey instead of his own.
While the visitors managed to win the game against the hosts on the 27th, the jersey issue sparked some confusion and fun among the fans.
Because of this issue, social media has now gone viral over SKY’s wearing another player’s jersey.
Meanwhile, according to reports, a BCCI source has revealed that there was some issue with SKY’s jersey.
Additionally, he has also stated that SKY’s jersey will be delivered to him after the 2nd ODI against the Windies.
There was some size issue with his jersey. We were told about it two days before the game. He will be receiving his new jersey after the second ODI as the BCCI has shipped it with the Indian team players selected for the T20 series. Till then he will be wearing his teammate jersey while playing.
Furthermore, this is the second time that the Indian team has faced a logistical issue during their Caribbean tour.
During a tour in 2022, India had gone to play a T20I series in the West Indies. However, the series was pushed back because of transporting the team’s luggage from Trinidad to St Kitts.
India dismantle West Indies in 1st ODI, win the game by 5 wickets
Talking about the 1st ODI, India won the toss and put the hosts in to bat first. However, West Indies did not have the greatest of starts.
Meanwhile, India deployed spin from both ends with Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja working in tandem.
Ultimately, West Indies were skittled out for a low score of 114 runs that India chased down in just 23 overs and lost five wickets in the process.
Ishan Kishan played a good knock in the 1st ODI, courtesy of which India was able to dominate West Indies in the run chase.
