Former and Current Kent cricketers join the second edition of Atlanta Open T20

A contingent of current and former Kent players have gone to the USA to participate in the Atlanta Open T20.

This T20 tournament will be played against 16 franchises at Atlanta’s Atlanta Cricket Fields which is near Chestatee, Georgia.

The tournament will take place from 5th-9th October 2022.

Additionally, the teams will comprise two Kent players along with a former Spitfire player.

Angelo Perera, Ravi Bopara, Chanderpaul Hemraj, Rahkeem Cornwall, Oshane Thomas and Samit Patel are some of the big names in the tournament.

Paramveers United, Raiders Unlimited, UMMC Knight Riders and Florida Scorpions are the few names out of the 16 franchises that are taking part in this tournament.

Opening matches of the tournament will start at 9:30 local on the 5th of October.

On the other hand, the quarter and semi-finals will also start at the same time on the 8th of October but the finals of the tournament will begin at 11:00 local on the 9th of October.

Alex Blake who is Kent’s big hitter has joined Paramveers United along with Jason Mohammed, Sherfane Rutherford and Danny Lamb.

On the other hand, Daniel Bell-Drummond is a part of Raiders Unlimited along with Andre Fletcher, Corbin Bosch and Bipul Sharma.

Darren Stevens is a part of UMMC Knight Riders along with Sohail Tanvir and Mohammad Mohsin.

Kent Second XI’s former player and now a Worcestershire batter Kashif Ali has joined Florida Scorpions for this tournament.

This tournament will encourage the sport of cricket in the USA.

Even the ICC has already visited the USA earlier this year to host some international cricketing events.

USA Cricket has its men’s and women’s teams already and is an associate member of the ICC as well.
