Ganguly and Younis give separate opinions on India vs Pakistan clash

Waqar Younis

In the sport of cricket, an India vs Pakistan match is always considered the mother of all games.

Additionally, it is the most high-tension game that is ever played between these two sides.

Furthermore, fans and experts of the game have also witnessed many wonderful moments between these two sides and have also seen tiffs between the players on the field.

But, this tiff goes even beyond the field and between ex-players on both sides of the border. One such tiff occurred between Sourav Ganguly and Waqar Younis.

Former India skipper, Ganguly has recently stated that the quality of the India-Pakistan games has gone down over the years.

He feels that India vs Australia games have a much better quality as there is a lot of competition involved.

Says Ganguly,

There is a lot of hype in this match but the quality has not been that good for a long time because India kept on winning one-sided. Pakistan probably defeated India for the first time in the T20 World Cup in Dubai.

Adding further, he says,

India did not play well in that tournament (2021 T20 World Cup) but according to me, India vs Australia tends to be a better game in the World Cup because the quality is better.

Waqar Younis slams back at Ganguly for negative comments

However, former Pakistan skipper, Waqar Younis has taken a negative perspective of Ganguly’s words and has blasted him for his comments.

Furthermore, he has also stated that the India-Pakistan games are so big an encounter that no one’s comments really matter.

Says Younis,

I don’t want to comment on that. I feel we have had good games. The match that Pakistan won was pretty one-sided (in 2021 T20 World Cup). But the ones we lost were pretty close as well. So, you can say anything you want, the matches between India and Pakistan are the biggest in the world. When the scale of the game is that big, no one’s comments really matter.
