“We are taking a precautionary approach, given Glenn was heading home next week in any case. We will monitor Glenn’s recovery with a view to him being available for the three-match ODI series in India in advance of the World Cup,”. Dodemaide saying by ESPNcricinfo

The Australian team is going on a white ball tour to South Africa. The time starts on Wednesday, August 30. The series consists of three Match T20I series and five One Day International matches. The first match of the tour is to take place in Durban. However, most of the Star Aussie players are going to miss the tour due to different injuries. The star Aussie players list includes their captain Pat Cummins, Steven Smith, Mitchell Starc, and now Glenn Maxwell.

Furthermore, the replacement for Maxwell is the left hander and wicket keeper batsman Matthew Wade. Maxwell got injured his leg when one of his friends fell on his leg. After the incident, the spin bowling allrounder had to have surgery on his fibula. The ankle injury from which Glenn is now suffering is on the same leg. Therefore, the Australian board wants to be careful and precautions. It is most likely that he might next feature in the India vs. Australia ODI series in India. The series is going to take place just before the warm up of the World Cup. All the star players who are missing the South Africa Tour including Glenn are likely to return for the India Tour in September.

Mitchel Marsh is going to lead the Australian team in the absence of Steven Smith and Pat Cummins for the tour.
