Graeme Smith and Parthiv Patel shower praises on Rajasthan Royals

Graeme Smith

In yesterday’s game between the Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals, it was the visitors who won the game.

Restricting the hosts to only 149/8 in their 20 overs, RR wrapped up the game in just 13.1 overs and is now in 3rd place.

Moreover, this win has given some much-needed relief for RR because they had lost three games on the trot.

Furthermore, the main heroes of RR were Yuzvendra Chahal, Sanju Samson, and Yashasvi Jaiswal who took the life of KKR.

While Chahal spun a web around the batters and picked up 4/25, Jaiswal and Sanju scored 98 and 48 not out respectively.

For KKR, it was Venkatesh Iyer who stood out with his 57 from 42 balls but could give only that much support to his side.

Meanwhile, former India cricketer, Parthiv Patel has given rich praise to Jaiswal and said,

The way Yashasvi batted tonight. You talk about the likes of Chris Gayle, Yuvraj Singh, the brutal hitting that we talk about.

Adding further, he said,

Here the batting was with proper timing and proper cricketing shots. At no point did it feel like he was forcing anything, just timing it well. He backed his game plan really well. He saw Nitish Rana bowling the first over and understood that he can build a big score if he takes charge, and that’s what he did with a six on the first ball. That shows the thought process of the young generation, they aren’t afraid of anything.

Graeme Smith also speaks on Rajasthan Royals’ Chahal and Samson

Meanwhile, former South African cricketer, Graeme Smith was full of praise for Yuzvendra Chahal and said that he bowled really well against KKR.

Says Smith,

KKR knew they needed 180 on the evening. The fielding was brilliant and the effort was excellent, some great catches.

Adding further, he said,

Yuzi Chahal came in at a time when they needed to accelerate and he controlled the back and of the innings. He’s able to toss the ball up, and tactically just one step ahead of all batters. He has the ability to bowl wide and then comes in straight with the slider.

Smith then talked about Rajasthan Royals’ skipper Sanju Samson and called him a class-apart player.

He’s got such natural ability. He’s just a natural timer. When you watch these guys, it seems so easy and effortless to get the ball over the boundary. He’s such a talented cricketer. Sometimes I want to shake Sanju Samson and get more out of him. He’s another talent you think you should just go to the next level.
