Gujarat Titans beat Lucknow Super Giants in a tight match in IPL. Lucknow needed 12 runs to win in the last over. Mohit Sharma gave only 4 runs. 4 wickets fell in that over. Gujarat captain Hardik Pandya gives all the credit to Mohit for winning the team. He said that Mohit saved his life.
Although he played regularly in the Indian team in the 2015 World Cup, Mohit was not seen in the national team after that. Mohit last played in India’s T20I on 7 September 2015 and in the ODI team on 26 October the same year. Since then, he was left out as the pacer in the national team. It was Mohit who won the match for Hardik.
While speaking on Mohit, Hardik said after the game,
“It was not easy to bowl in the last over. But Mohit has shown what a quality bowler he is. Mohit saved my life. Last time we won such a tight match. We couldn’t do that this time. Mohit has done it again.”
Hardik don’t feel Mohit needs any advice to bowl
Hardik said that he did not gave any advice to Mohit while bowling in the last over. He had faith in the bowler. Hardik said,
“Mohit has played so much cricket that there is no point in giving him advice. He made my job much easier. He arranged the fielding himself. After that he played according to the plan. It is not easy to contain batsmen like Lokesh Rahul, Marcus Stoinis.”
Mohit gave 2 runs in the first ball of the last over. He dismissed Rahul in the next over. This right-handed pacer took the wicket of Stoinis on the third ball. Wickets fell in the next two balls as well. Ayush Badoni and Deepak Hooda were run out. Mohit did not gave any runs even in the last ball. In the end, this Gujarat pacer took 2 wickets with 17 runs in 3 overs.
