Her team reached the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup. Harmanpreet Kaur has set a double precedent on Monday despite not getting many runs with the bat. As the first woman cricketer in the world, she sets the precedent of playing the most T20 matches. Besides, she scored 3000 runs in T20 format.

Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian skipper, is the first cricketer to play 150 T20 matches, in both male and female cricket. After winning the toss, the skipper said,

“It is a great honor for me. I also received an emotional message from the team. Thanks to BCCI and ICC, who gave us the opportunity to play so many matches.”

Harmanpreet played 141 T20 matches. Among the male cricketers, India’s Rohit Sharma stands first. He played 148 T20 matches. He is followed by Shoaib Malik (124) and Martin Guptill (122).

Harmanpreet Kaur led her team to the Women’s T-20 World Cup semifinals

Meanwhile, the Punjab born Harmanpreet Kaur became India’s first woman cricketer to score 3000 runs in T20Is. She was seven runs short before this match. She achieved this feat with one run off Orla Prendergast. Apart from Harmanpreet Kaur, Suzy Bates and Meg Lanning of Australia have this achievement. Among men, Rohit and Virat Kohli have over 3000 runs.

Harmanpreet led India to the Women’s T-20 World Cup last night. Her side beat Ireland by five runs in the Duckworth-Lewis process in a rain-hit match on Monday. Even if Pakistan beat England on Tuesday, they will not be able to topple India. India and England, both teams now have six points. But England played one match less.

Pakistan will play against England in the last match of this group on Tuesday. If England loose that match by a huge margin, India Women has a chance to top the group. But that is practically impossible. As a result, India will have to play against Australia in the semi-finals. Harmanpreet and her team’s record against the country is not good at all.
