The International Cricket Council or ICC has named their Women’s ODI Team of the Year 2022.

India’s Harmanpreet Kaur has been named the skipper of this team.

Furthermore, Smriti Mandhana and Renuka Singh are also a part of this team.

However, Deepti Sharma and Rajeshwari Gayakwad have missed out on the opportunity of being on this team.

During 2022, Harmanpreet Kaur scored 754 runs from 16 ODI matches and had an impressive average of 58.00.

Additionally, she also made two tons and five half-centuries and her highest score in 2022 was 143* against England.

On the other hand, Smriti Mandhana has once again put herself on this list with her exceptional batting skills.

In 2022, Smriti scored 696 runs from 15 ODI matches with an average of 49.71 and a strike rate of 81.21.

Along with this, she also scored one ton and six half-centuries. Her hundred came against the West Indies in the World Cup and she ended the year with two half-centuries against England.

Moreover, pacer Renuka Singh, who made her debut in 2022 made a big impact with 18 wickets in the year from just seven matches.

She broke the headlines with two four-wicket hauls against England in September after she claimed 4/28 against Sri Lanka.

Other names in the list of ICC Women’s ODI Team of the Year 2022

Apart from India, there are only two Australian players on this list who are Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney.

Both of these Aussie players currently occupy the first and second positions in the ICC’s ODI batter’s charts.

Healy has been given the role of a wicketkeeper in this team by the ICC.

Meanwhile, England’s Nat Sciver and ace spinner Sophie Ecclestone have also made it to this list although England were struggling last year.

From South Africa, Laura Wolvaardt, Ayabonga Khaka, and Shabnim Ismail are included in this list as well.

From New Zealand, Amelia Kerr has earned an all-rounder spot on this team while ousting West Indies’ Hayley Matthews.

Although Matthews is the top all-rounder in the ICC charts, her performances just weren’t enough to ensure a place in the 2022 ODI team.
