Harry Brook recalls Brian Lara’s words during KKR game

Sunrisers Hyderabad

England and Sunrisers Hyderabad batter, Harry Brook has recently revealed head coach, Brian Lara’s words to him.

Furthermore, this season has been a mixed bag for him as he has gotten only a solitary ton.

After that, he is just floating around in the top and middle order for the Orange Army.

Additionally, Brook was also promoted up the order against the Punjab Kings but then too he failed.

Furthermore, in the game against KKR, Brook smashed 100* from 55 balls that was studded with 12 boundaries and six maximums.

Says Brook about his discussion with Brian Lara,

He [Brian Lara] told me, ‘You’re a Test player.’ He knew that I could face the swinging ball and adapt to it. So he sent me up top. I’ve never really done it before, and in my second game I got a hundred.

Meanwhile, Brook was picked up by the two-time IPL champions for a whopping INR 13.25 crores, and that brings him under even more scrutiny from experts and fans alike.

Recently, he has been able to score only 63 runs in seven matches as a result of which he has again been demoted to the middle order.

Brook is staying away from social media at the moment

Meanwhile, the young batter has also revealed that he has cut down his social media and is not even looking at it anymore.

While he was glad to shut down his trollers after his fantastic century against KKR, he is once again being scrutinized for his average performances by trollers.

Says Brook,

It’s one of the hardest bits. When you’ve got nothing to do, you’re in the hotel, and you don’t really get out and about as much as at home, you do find yourself on your phone a lot. Things pop up, but it’s keyboard warriors at their finest- it’s pointless. I’ve gone off it [social media] for now. Hopefully, that makes a difference.

On the other hand, Brook has also commented that it is indeed tough to play Indian spinners in India.

That is also one of his major flaws this season with experts commenting on how Brook struggles against spin. Meanwhile, he has faced only 45 balls from spinners this season.

Adding further, Brook says,

I haven’t faced as much as usual, when I’m in he middle order. But obviously, India is renowned for creating good spinners, and that produces a different challenge.

Therefore, a lot will ride on Brook now as SRH will hope that he takes them through to the playoffs and wins games from hereon.

The Orange Army will be up against the Kolkata Knight Riders at home on the 4th of May.
