Harry Brook scores a ton while Sunrisers defeat Kolkata Knight Riders

Sunrisers Hyderabad

IPL franchise, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batsman, Harry Brook scored a stupendous 100 not out against Kolkata Knight Riders.

This happened during the 19th match of the tournament where Brook finally came to life after not being able to score runs in his first three games.

Additionally, with this knock, Brook has also justified his heavy price tag of INR 13.25 crores and has also silenced his critics as well.

Furthermore, after his incredible knock, Brook joked a bit with the commentators and said that after his family left India, he played and scored a brilliant knock.

After not being able to score many runs in the tournament so far, Brook was under immense pressure to perform well for his franchise.

On the other hand, he also became the first centurion of this season and helped Hyderabad post a massive target of 228/4 in 20 overs.

Said Brook after his knock,

My girlfriend is here but the rest of my family have just left. I was sure that after they leave I would get some runs (laughs). No, honestly, I am sure they’ll all be very happy for me.

Brook scores useful partnerships; KKR falls short of the target

Coming back to the game, then KKR needed to score a massive 229 in 20 overs to win this game.

While they do have the likes of Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, and Nitish Rana in their ranks, the target did prove to be a big one even for them.

In the end, they could reach only 205/7 in their 20 overs with Rana and Rinku hitting fifties in the game.

Additionally, Brook stitched together some handy partnerships with skipper Aiden Markram and then with Abhishek Sharma which were both of 72 runs apiece.

After this win, SRH is now in 7th position in the points table and will now look to keep the winning momentum going.
