Harsha Bhogle and Shikhar Dhawan resolve differences after SRH vs PBKS

Shikhar Dhawan

Harsha Bhogle had earlier criticized Shikhar Dhawan’s strike rate on Twitter during the ongoing IPL 2023 season. Bhogle expressed disappointment in Dhawan’s slow start to innings and called for him to play with more aggression.

However, in a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 9, Dhawan played a remarkable innings, which will go down in IPL history. Despite losing wickets on the other end, Dhawan kept his cool and scored an unbeaten 99 runs off 66 balls to lead Punjab to a respectable total of 143 runs.

During the post-match presentation, Dhawan jokingly asked Bhogle if he was satisfied with his strike rate against SRH. Bhogle later took to Twitter to clarify that he had a “mature” conversation with Dhawan after the match. Dhawan explained that he had struggled to hit boundaries in a previous match against RR, which had contributed to his low strike rate.

Our job is to observe, it is never personal: Harsha

“Had a lovely chat with Shikhar post game, always easy conversation with him, where he said he was trying to play shots the other day but struggled. And that the form of Prabhsimran and his own calmness and experience allowed him to ride over the situation. We have mature chats. Sometimes, only sometimes, the end overcomes the beginning. It doesn’t justify the beginning. But you know, everyone has some days where everything goes right and others where you struggle and overcome. Our job is to observe, it is never personal. That is where you build respect,”

Harsha tweeted.

PBKS suffered their first loss of IPL 2023 against RCB, as they lost by eight wickets. Despite Rahul Tripathi’s excellent knock of 74* off 48 balls, Shikhar Dhawan was named Player of the Match for his sensible innings, where he scored an unbeaten 99 off 66 balls.
