Young Indian bowling sensation, Arshdeep Singh, opened up in a one-on-one interview with Mohammad Siraj. He revealed the perks of having experienced seniors on the team and how he constantly tries to learn from them.

Arshdeep Singh ‘s rise in T20 cricket post his debut has been impressive. He has nearly filled Bumrah’s shoes and took charge of death bowling. Even after suffering severe backlash in the Asia Cup 2022, he came back with a stronger mindset.

In the recent T20 against New Zealand, Arshdeep Singh registered his best career figure of 4/37 in 4 overs. Moreover, he was also on a hat trick, which he missed. Post-match, Arshdeep Singh sat down for a one-on-one chat with his fellow pacer, Mohammad Siraj, and opened up.

“I try to improve myself,” Arshdeep Singh

Arshdeep Singh revealed that he is learning different variations from different players on the team. He constantly seeks help from Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammad Siraj and also Mohammad Shami for that matter.

“It’s all from the guidance from the experienced players in the team. I constantly try to learn from them. I try to learn hard-length deliveries from Siraj. And I am learning knuckleball from Bhuvi Bhai”

Arshdeep Singh further stated that he constantly tries to improve himself and wants to step up for the team in crucial situations.

“Earlier I learned how to use yorkers from Shami Bhai. I try to improve myself and hope to step up and perform well when the team requires you to stop runs or get a wicket,”

“I thought that I can take a hattrick or five-wicket haul,” Arshdeep reveals his thought process

Arshdeep Singh was on a hattrick in the 19th over. However, he missed out on a personal hattrick but the team registered a hattrick owing to Siraj’s splendid run-out. Siraj ran out Adam Milne with a spot-on direct hit.

“I even had a thought that I can take a hattrick or a five-wicket haul. But you did make a run-out and gave a team hattrick. The seniors advised me to bowl length and slower balls to deceive the opponent”

Arshdeep Singh concluded by saying that he would try his best to learn and execute plans in the future.

“I am learning and will try to implement it in the future. All is well that ends well. The team has got a series win and I am happy to witness your bowling and will try to do well in the future,”
