Nominees for the Player of the Month are out on the official website of the ICC.

These nominees are for the month of November for their performances in the T20 World Cup.

The three names chosen for this award are England’s Adil Rashid and Jos Buttler and Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Starting with Jos Buttler, the England skipper led his side brilliantly to the T20 World Cup triumph.

Along with this, he also batted brilliantly throughout the tournament where he amassed 207 runs.

Buttler was exceptional against India in the semi-final where he smashed 80 from just 49 balls.

Together with Alex Hales, Buttler created an unbroken opening stand and England won comfortably by 10 wickets.

Even in the final against Pakistan, Buttler’s incredible captaincy allowed Pakistan to make only 137/8 in the first innings.

Rashid while going wicketless in the first three matches of the tournament, struck back sharply in the last three matches.

In the must-win Super 12 clash against Sri Lanka, Rashid bowled a great spell of 1/16.

Then in the semis against India, Rashid dismissed the in-form Suryakumar Yadav and once again was the economical bowler.

In the final against Pakistan, Rashid dismissed Mohammad Haris and Babar Azam and finished with figures of 2/22 from four.

Shaheen Afridi was the best bowler for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup where he got 11 wickets.

Against Bangladesh in the must-win clash was outstanding as he picked up 4/22 from four overs.

In the semi-final against New Zealand, Afridi gave only 24 runs while also dismissing Finn Allen and Kane Williamson.

While he was successful in getting the prized wicket of Alex Hales in the final, Afridi sat out the rest of the game because of a knee injury.
