ILT20 League is all set to launch on 13th January 2023

The first and inaugural edition of the International T20 League (ILT20) is all set to begin on 13th January 2023 with a massive opening clash.

The ILT20 league will begin on 13th January 2023 at Dubai International Stadium. Abu Dhabi Knight Riders and Dubai Capitals will clash in the first fixture. The finals of the tournament will be held on 12th February 2023.

The league will have 34 games in total. Furthermore, it will have six teams namely, Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Desert Vipers, Dubai Capitals, Gulf Giants, MI Emirates, and Sharjah Warriors. Moreover, the teams will play 30 league games. The first and second teams on the table will play the first qualifier. The winner will be the first contenders of the finals. Furthermore, the third and fourth teams will play an eliminator. The winner of the eliminator will proceed to a second qualifier game. Eventually, that game will decide the second contenders for the finals.

Mubashshir Usmani, General Secretary of, the Emirates Cricket Board, issued a statement following the announcement of the league schedule. He said that the entire board is excited about the tournament.

“This is a very exciting time for the league and, collectively, we are delighted to announce the 2023 ILT20 playing schedule. To have superstars such as Dubai Capitals’ Dasun Shanaka and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders’ Andre Russell open their teams’ accounts is very exciting. We cannot wait for the teams to arrive and battle it out in the park and provide world-class entertainment to the cricket fans here, in the UAE, and around the globe”

The league is likely to clash with a few more franchise cricket leagues. However, the organizers are unfazed and expect the tournament to be a hit. UAE will be the hosts of this league. Besides, it will be broadcasted live on various platforms all across the world.
