It was a Shreyas Iyer and Ravindra Jadeja show in the second T20I match on Saturday at Dharamsala.
Winning the toss and choosing to field first, India’s bowlers got hit for many boundaries by Pathum Nissanka and Danushka Gunathalika and the openers were playing pretty well.
When Sri Lanka’s score reached 67, Bhuvneshwar Kumar trapped Gunathalika for an LBW.
After that Sri Lanka were in a bit of a worrisome position as both Asalanka and Mishara got out in the span of 5 runs.
Skipper Dasun Shanaka smashed some mighty sixes off the Indian bowlers and remained unbeaten till the end to take his team’s score to 183/5.
India, in the second innings, were a bit shaky with the bat. Rohit Sharma especially looked uncomfortable during his short stay at the crease.
Ishan Kishan got hit on the head by a Lahiru Kumara delivery that left him quite shaken.
He ultimately got out on 16 after playing a rather loose shot.
Shreyas Iyer came in to bat at no.3 and he and Sanju Samson rebuilt India’s innings.
After the departure of Samson, Jadeja joined hands with Shreyas and together the duo took India home comfortably with 17 balls to spare. India won the match by 7 wickets.
