India’s victory run continued against Sri Lanka as well after they defeated the hosts by 62 runs in the first T20I in Lucknow.
India’s top order did the show for them with Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer all standing up to the occasion.
Ishan Kishan’s 89 was the highlight in India’s innings.
India posted a massive total of 199/2 in their 20 overs.
The visitors on the other hand were bundled up for just 137/6 in their 20 overs.
India’s bowlers too stepped up to the occasion and managed to put up a restricting hold on Sri Lankan batsmen.
Sri Lanka had won the toss and decided to field first in the match.
Sri Lanka will need to play better if they want to have any chance of beating India today.
India needs to win just one game to seal the series and maintain their unbeaten streak in T20Is.
India may also appoint some changes in today’s squad with Ravi Bishnoi replacing Chahal in the squad.
Avesh Khan too may find a spot in today’s playing XI for the match.
India have a higher number of wins against Sri Lanka at home. Head to Head India is 15 while Sri Lanka only have 7 wins.
Shreyas Iyer would like to have an extended run in this series.
