IND vs SL: Shreyas Iyer overcomes Virat Kohli’s record in T20Is for India

India’s batsman, Shreyas Iyer performed exceptionally well in the recently concluded T20I series against Sri Lanka.

He remained unbeaten in all three matches and won the Player of the Series award as well for his performances.

In the process, he broke the long-standing record held by Virat Kohli as he scored a total of 204 runs in the bilateral series.

Kohli previously held the record scoring a total of 199 runs against Australia.

This top form of Shreyas will certainly help his franchise Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL.

He is the captain as well of the franchise and a lot will ride on him to make sure Kolkata brings home their 3rd title of the tournament.

Shreyas was consistent throughout the series and not once did he look lax or slow while batting.

He even admitted in a recent interview that his preferred batting position is No. 3 as that is where he performs the best.

Shreyas was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders for INR 12.25 crores in the Mega Auctions.
