India vs West Indies 2nd T20

India won a nail-biting match yesterday against the West Indies by 8 runs.

It was Harshal Patel who kept his cool in the last over of the match and executed the last couple of deliveries with brilliance.

It was looking at one stage that Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell will snatch the game away from India.

But, it was the bowlers’ hard work that led the team to a victory.

West Indies chased an above par score of 187 runs and looked pretty dominant in the first half of the game.

Then came Bhuvneshwar Kumar who bowled a tight 16th over that pulled things back for India.

In the end, the visitors could only manage 178/3 in their 20 overs.

Kieron Pollard, West Indies skipper said that he was pretty happy with the performance of his batsmen in this game than the previous game. Added that they were well into the game to chase down the target comfortably and was proud of the way how Rovman Powell and Nicholas Pooran batted for the visitors.

Rohit Sharma, India skipper said that it is always a scare for them to be playing against a quality side like the West Indies when it comes to the shortest format of the game. Added that Bhuvneshwar Kumar was excellent with his yorkers, Kohli’s innings put off the pressure from him. Was also happy with Venkatesh Iyer’s performance as well. Also talked about how they could improve upon their fielding skills as they were pretty sloppy in the second innings.

Next Match

India and West Indies will now play their final match of the T20I series again in Kolkata. It will be held tomorrow that is, on Sunday.
