“India needed Kuldeep Yadav in T20 World Cup” claims Rashid Latif

Former Pakistani cricketer, Rashid Latif feels that India should have featured Kuldeep Yadav in the T20 World Cup as he is very difficult to read.

Kuldeep Yadav claimed a fifer in his comeback game against Bangladesh in the first test match in Chattogram. The “Chinaman” spinner’s excellent figures helped India restrict the opposition to a low score of 150 in the second innings.

Kuldeep Yadav stayed out of the team for almost 2 years owing to a slump in form. However, he kept his head down and continued to impress in domestic cricket. The selection committee showed some faith in the left-arm spinner as he received a call-up against Sri Lanka. Yadav grabbed the rare opportunity with both hands and impressed everyone with his performance.

Kuldeep got his redemption against Bangladesh. Fans and critics are heavily applauding the leggie. Former Pakistani cricketer, Rashid Latif heaped praise on Kuldeep and stated that the spinner should have featured in India’s squad in the T20 World Cup 2022.

“India needs Kuldeep Yadav,” Rashid Latif

Rashid Latif uploaded a video on his Youtube channel in which he is seen praising Kuldeep Yadav for his performance against Bangladesh. He said that Kuldeep has a mixed bag of variations that make it difficult for the batters to read.

“Kuldeep was brought when Bangladesh had lost 3 wickets and they failed to read him. People think that chinaman or leg-spin bowlers need pace, but that’s not true. Kuldeep is the prime example for that,”

“Rashid Khan bowls with pace but Kuldeep is slower. If you have a decent googly, leg-break, and flipper, you can deceive the batter in the air. Bangladesh players can usually read the spinners but Kuldeep didn’t allow them any comfort,”

Latif further added that India should have played Kuldeep Yadav in the recently concluded T20 World Cup. He backed the leg spinner to be India’s regular player in at least two formats.

“The biggest mistake India did is to not play Kuldeep Yadav in the T20 World Cup. Not everyone can read him. India needs Kuldeep in at least two formats,”
