India steals thrilling victory over Bangladesh

India National Team 6

In the match between India and Bangladesh today at Adelaide, India emerged as the winners after a close call.

All the drama started in the last over when Bangladesh were just a few runs short of victory.

In the first innings, it was KL Rahul and Virat Kohli who put together a great partnership to steady India to a massive total.

The additional contributions came from Suryakumar Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin helped put India 184 runs on the board.

Bangladesh required 185 runs to win the match and dent India’s chances of making it to the semi-finals.

And they did start off really well with Litton Das the aggressor of the innings while Najmul Hossain Shanto was the anchor.

The rains somewhat dampened India’s chances of making it to the semi-finals.

Bangladesh were well ahead of the DLS score and looked calm. They were sure of chasing down the score once the rain lessens.

When the rains subsided, Bangladesh required 151 runs to win from 16 overs.

But, as the game resumed, Litton Das was run-out only after the second ball of the resumption.

KL Rahul did a superb piece of fielding to remove Das after the resumption.

After Litton, Bangladesh just couldn’t keep up the tempo and wickets started falling pretty quickly for them.

India came back strongly into the match and decimated Bangladesh’s batting lineup.

But, the final over of the match was quite thrilling and everyone was on the edge of their seats.

Arshdeep Singh bowled some pretty good yorkers toward the end that helped India win against Bangladesh and of keeping their semi-final hope alive.

For Bangladesh, the road to the semis is now over and the Bangladeshi fans could be seen crying in the stands.
