Mumbai and Pune together will be hosting a total of 70 league games across 4 stadiums in this year’s IPL as per the latest reports.
Venues for the playoffs are still under wraps.
The bulk of the matches will be played in Mumbai’s 3 stadiums which are the Wankhede, Brabourne and DY Patil Stadium while the remaining 15 will be played at MCA International Stadium in Pune.
All teams will get a chance to play 4 games at Wankhede and DY Patil while 3 apiece in Brabourne and Pune.
In previous reports, it was also mentioned that Star and BCCI are contemplating the start date of this year’s IPL. While Star wants a Saturday opening that is the 26th of March, BCCI is in the favour of starting the game on 27th March which is a Sunday.
The final decision will impact the number of double-header games in the upcoming season of the IPL.
The season is most likely to see a finish off on the 29th of May.
