The 15th edition of the IPL has kicked off successfully with the Kolkata Knight Riders registering a 6-wicket win over the reigning champs Chennai Super Kings.
Today, it is the tournament’s first doubleheader with Delhi Capitals locking horns with the Mumbai Indians at the Brabourne Stadium.
Punjab Kings will battle it out with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the evening fixture.
Delhi have become a formidable side in the IPL in the past two years and reached the final in 2020 but lost to Mumbai Indians.
In last year’s IPL, they lost to the Chennai Super Kings in the qualifiers.
Rishabh Pant has led the franchise successfully and will be doing so again this season.
Delhi Capitals have added extra firepower to their side by selecting quality players. They parted ways with Shikhar Dhawan, Kagiso Rabada, Shreyas Iyer, Ravichandran Ashwin and Marcus Stoinis.
They have added David Warner and Mitchell Marsh to their side who will be leading the batting charge.
Delhi Capitals’ assistant coach, Ajit Agarkar recently said in an interview that the franchise’s management has been pretty nice and have created a comfortable environment for both experienced and new players.
He also said that he is looking forward to carrying the same environment and to contributing to the team’s success.
He also stated that the Capitals have a fairly young side this season.
