Royal Challengers Bangalore, the most star-studded team of the tournament, has not won a single IPL trophy so far in its last 14 seasons.

They have retained Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and Mohammed Siraj ahead of the auctions.

They made it to the playoffs last year after finishing 3rd at the league stage but couldn’t continue further as they were beaten by KKR in the Eliminator.

After the loss, Virat Kohli decided to step down as captain.

So, now RCB have double challenges to overcome.

Firstly, to choose a balanced pace attack for the upcoming season as well as select a new captain for the franchise. They have Mohammed Siraj with them but will still need a few more options to choose from.

Let’s take a look as to who are the 3 pace bowlers that Bangalore will target at the Mega Auctions.

Jason Holder

According to media reports, RCB have already set their sights on Jason Holder by reserving a huge amount for him.

Holder has been very good with both bat and ball for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. But the franchise decided to drop him this year.

Holder’s skills will definitely give him an edge and will help him to secure a contract with a heavy amount.

He has 35 wickets to his credit in 26 matches in the IPL. So, no wonder RCB will make a huge bid for him.

Mohammed Shami

Shami has been excellent for the Punjab Kings with his death bowling. But he was not retained by the franchise.

RCB will look to have an extra Indian bowler rather than invest in an overseas batsman. Shami’s skill with the ball will help him in getting huge bids in the auction.

RCB will like to add Shami into their team as his services to the franchise may come in handy.

Lockie Ferguson

Just like the Mumbai Indians, RCB will also try to bring Lockie Ferguson into their side. The New Zealander has been brilliant with the ball for KKR last season.

He has taken 13 wickets at an average of 17.23.

He was unfortunately released by the Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the auctions. Thus, RCB will bid heavily on him as well.
