BCCI has given a statement in which it wants the timings of the IPL to be restored to the original.

They have also said that there would not be many doubleheaders from next season.

Thus, the timings from the next season will once again be 4 PM for afternoon games and 8 PM for evening games.

This season, the timings are 3:30 PM and 7:30 PM respectively.

Previously, the shift in timings was done at the request of Star who is the sole broadcaster in this cycle of the IPL.

This increases the prime time as well as the broadcaster’s revenue as well.

The BCCI also extended the purchase of the ITT document by 10 days.

The last date to purchase the document was 20th May 2022.

Many parties have shown interest to buy the broadcasting rights for the next season of the IPL which are Star India, Viacom 18, Sony, Amazon, Zee, Dream11, Supersports of South Africa, and Sky Sports in the UK and Times Internet.

The BCCI will start the bidding process next month, that is the 12th of June and has set a combined base price of INR 32,890 crores for all the four bouquets that it is dishing out.
