Gujarat Titans’ pace sensation Mohammed Shami, on Friday, gave his verdict on two young fast bowlers.
These bowlers are Umran Malik and Mohsin Khan.
Shami said that while Umran needs accuracy along with his pace, Mohsin needs to have better game plans for the future.
He further said that he is not a great fan of pace and if a fast bowler can bowl at speeds of 140 kph while moving it both ways and reversing the ball, then that is enough to trouble the batsmen.
Shami also felt that Umran still needs time to mature and improve upon his bowling.
For the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Umran has been a splendid performer. But, he is also one of the most expensive bowlers in the IPL with an economy rate of 9.10 in this year’s IPL.
Meanwhile, Mohsin Khan has left a somewhat favourable impression on Mohammed Shami.
Mohsin had gone to Amroha to train with Shami and the senior bowler feels that Mohsin needs to work more on his game plans.
Mohsin has an economy rate of 5.19 this season which is the lowest among bowlers.
Shami is happy with the fact that the future of Indian fast bowling is looking great with young pacers like Malik and Mohsin delivering quality bowling.
Lastly, Shami praised Hardik Pandya for his captaincy and said that he has really matured as a player and captain.
Gujarat Titans have qualified for the playoffs along with Lucknow Super Giants.
