Chennai Super Kings have finally notched up their first points in the points table as they beat Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Starting with the toss, Royal Challengers Bangalore won and asked CSK to bat first.

Ruturaj Gaikwad did try to get a good start but could not convert it further.

Robin Uthappa, on the other hand, played a good knock of 88 runs.

Moeen Ali was out cheaply and Ravindra Jadeja was out first ball.

Shivam Dube was fantastic once again and remained unbeaten on 95.

Chennai Super Kings ended up with a huge score of 216/4 in their 20 overs.

In the second innings, Royal Challengers Bangalore did not have a good start as their top three were out quickly.

RCB lost the plot for some time and found it hard to make runs against the CSK bowlers.

It was the middle and tail-end batsmen who tried to keep up a fight for Bangalore.

Shahbaz Ahmed, Suyash Prabhudessai and Dinesh Karthik gave some contributory runs at the end.

But the score was a bit too much for RCB and they finished off with 193/9.

Faf du Plessis, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain said that they had the game in their control till the 7th over but it was then Shivam Dube and Robin Uthappa who put on 160 runs together that gave CSK the high score at the end. Added that they didn’t show the much-needed aggression and the CSK batsmen used the spinners very well. Said that they missed the services of Harshal Patel today and also less variety at hand. Ended by saying that although they didn’t have a good start, the younger guys played very well and it shows that they have great depth in batting.

Ravindra Jadeja, Chennai Super Kings skipper said that this is his first victory as skipper of the franchise and dedicated the win to his wife as it is a very special moment after losing four games on the trot. Added that the staff and management have never put pressure on him of any sort and MS Dhoni is always helping him out in the field. Ended by saying that there is a lot of experience in the dressing room and they don’t create panic and remain calm.

Next Match

Royal Challengers Bangalore will next play the Delhi Capitals on the 16th of April at Wankhede Stadium while Chennai Super Kings will face Gujarat Titans on the 17th of April at MCA Stadium in Pune.
