It was once again a low-scoring affair for Chennai Super Kings as they were washed out by the Gujarat Titans by 7 wickets.

MS Dhoni won the toss and sent his team to bat first.

Chennai Super Kings had a slow start with both Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway.

Soon enough, Conway was out caught behind on the delivery of Mohammed Shami.

Ruturaj played well for his half-century which came in 49 balls.

Moeen Ali and Narayan Jagadeesan too played some handy knocks for CSK.

But, in the end with constant wickets falling, Chennai Super Kings were routed at 133/5 in their 20 overs.

Gujarat Titans needed just 134 to win the match.

And they had a splendid start yet again with Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha.

Even Matthew Wade and David Miller chipped in with scores of their own.

In the end, losing only 3 wickets, the Gujarat Titans achieved the score easily.

Post Match Reactions

MS Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings skipper said the idea of batting first backfired on them. Mentioned that it was quite tough to hit the pacers early on in the first half. Added that Sai Kishore was superb with the ball. Said that they should have sent Shivam Dube up the order for Sai Kishore as then it would have been a good match-up. Added that Matheesha Pathirana has a bowling style similar to Malinga’s so there’s little margin for error. Ended by saying that they will now give opportunities to those players who have not gotten a game this season.
