It was an easy run chase for Kolkata Knight Riders as they beat Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets.

Winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Shreyas Iyer sent the Rajasthan Royals in to bat first.

Jos Buttler and Devdutt Paddikal started well in the first innings.

But, both of them departed early which caused a bit of a heartache for the Royals.

It was skipper Sanju Samson who played a captain’s knock and took the team score to a respectable total.

Shimron Hetmyer too played a cameo innings of 27.

Rajasthan Royals finished at 152/5 in their 20 overs.

Kolkata Knight Riders needed just 153 to win.

Aaron Finch and Baba Indrajith didn’t play too well and were out early.

Shreyas Iyer, Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh achieved the target for Kolkata Knight Riders easily with just 5 balls to spare.

Sanju Samson, Rajasthan Royals skipper said that they fell short by 15-20 runs in the end. Added that he is feeling fine at the moment after sustaining an injury while batting. Mentioned that they did everything well, they just needed more runs on the board and he also added that he wins the toss next time. Ended by saying that they played hard but the opposition outplayed them completely.

Shreyas Iyer, Kolkata Knight Riders captain said their bowling in the Powerplay overs was brilliant. Praised Umesh Yadav and said that even if he bowls in the nets, it is pretty tough to face him. Praised Sunil Narine as well and said that he is the most economical bowler against whom every batter takes a risk. Mentioned that he had a chat with both Rinku and Nitish Rana and both played their roles to perfection. Ended by saying that they just now need to keep the winning momentum going on and applauded the efforts of Shivam Mavi as well.
