Chennai Super Kings lost their must-win encounter against the Mumbai Indians by 5 wickets.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and decided to bowl first.

It was an unlucky match for the defending champions as, during the first half, there was no provision of the DRS system.

Chennai’s wickets just started tumbling one after the other and without the DRS, CSK looked in deep trouble.

When the DRS system came back on, it was already too late. CSK had lost 8 wickets by then.

In a panic, Chennai Super Kings could only muster 97 runs without even playing their full quota of overs.

Mumbai needed just 98 runs to win the match.

This was a must-win scenario for Chennai Super Kings but they didn’t capitalize on building a big inning for themselves.

Tilak Verma outshone with the bat for Mumbai Indians and they got the score quite easily in the end with 31 balls to spare.

Player of the Match

Daniel Sams for his 3/16 (4) and 1 (6)
