It was a great contest between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians but in the end, it was the Royals who triumphed over Mumbai in a high-scoring contest.
Starting with the toss, Mumbai won it and asked Rajasthan to bat first.
It was a great pitch to bat on as Jos Buttler smashed his way to a hundred. He got 26 runs off Basil Thampi’s first over itself.
There were small contributions from Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer as the Royals finished off at 193/8 in their 20 overs.
Mumbai Indians too started off well with Ishan Kishan scoring runs at a brisk pace. The other high-scorer for Mumbai was N Tilak Verma with 61 off 33 deliveries.
But the rest of the Mumbai batters failed to make an impression.
The absence of Suryakumar Yadav too cost the Mumbai Indians dearly.
They ultimately finished off at 170/8 in their 20 thus giving the Royals their second victory of the season by 23 runs.
Player of the Match
Jos Buttler for his 100 off 68 balls.
Mumbai Indians will next play Kolkata Knight Riders on the 6th of April at the MCA Stadium in Pune while Rajasthan will lock horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on the 5th of April.
