Rajasthan Royals had a great game last night against the Lucknow Super Giants as they beat the latter by 24 runs.

Starting with the toss, Sanju Samson won it and decided to bat first.

Yashasvi Jaiswal laid the foundation for the Rajasthan Royals.

Along with this, Sanju Samson and Devdutt Paddikal too played short knocks.

In the end, Trent Boult played a quick knock of 17 that took Rajasthan Royals to 178/6 in their 20 overs.

Lucknow Super Giants needed to make 179 to win as well as to qualify for the playoffs.

Things did not go well for the Super Giants as both KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock were out early on.

Deepak Hooda kept the playoffs hope alive for Lucknow but he too perished after some time.

Krunal Pandya and Marcus Stoinis tried their best to win it for Lucknow but were out towards the end of the second innings.

LSG ultimately wrapped up for just 154 runs, in the end, giving their 2nd spot to Rajasthan Royals.

KL Rahul, Lucknow Super Giants skipper said that it was a gettable target for them. Mentioned that they didn’t bat well and during such matches, you need your best players to step up against the opposition. He further added that they didn’t execute their plans well which cost them the game. Added that they will keep pretty much the same game plan against their last league game against the Kolkata Knight Riders. Ended by saying that it is all about playing according to the conditions and it is all about batting well.

Sanju Samson, Rajasthan Royals captain said that they are happy with the way things have gone for them. Credited his teammates for doing their jobs well. Was happy with the fielding as well and said that they wanted to keep things simple and not complicate it. Went on to praise James Neesham for his outing in the field. Samson was also happy with the way his spinners operated in the game. Ended by saying that it is all about keeping things simple and not jinxing it as the players just need to go out there and express themselves.

Rajasthan Royals’ last league match is against the Chennai Super Kings on the 20th of May at Brabourne Stadium.

Lucknow Super Giants will play their last league match against Kolkata Knight Riders on the 18th of May at Dr DY Patil Stadium.
