Mumbai Indians have suffered their fourth defeat of the season against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Winning the toss and opting to bowl first, RCB sent in Mumbai to bat.

Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma started off things well for Mumbai by hitting boundaries every over.

But they were suddenly stopped by the RCB bowlers and this slowed down things a bit for Mumbai Indians.

Dewald Brevis was out cheaply for just 8 runs. It was then Suryakumar Yadav who accelerated the Mumbai innings.

Tilak Verma and Kieron Pollard were out for ducks.

Jaydev Unadkat provided the anchor role to Suryakumar to finish off the Mumbai Indians’ innings at 151/6.

152 was a chasable total for the Royal Challengers Bangalore and they did it comfortably with youngster Anuj Rawat getting his maiden IPL 50.

Virat Kohli too played a good knock of 48 while Dinesh Karthik and Glenn Maxwell finished off things for their side and won their 3rd straight game in a row.

Rohit Sharma, skipper of Mumbai Indians said that they had two overseas players who they thought had given them the perfect balance. Added that they had to choose from the limited options available to them. Said that he had wanted to bat long but was out at a very wrong time in the innings. Was also upset about the team losing four straight games in a row. Praised Suryakumar Yadav immensely and said that 150 was not a par score on this pitch. Also said that if they had batted deep enough, then there would have been something for the bowlers as well. Ended by saying that they will try to come back stronger when both their bat and ball perform well.

Faf du Plessis, captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore said that Mumbai are a strong team and it is a very good feeling to have won against them. Adds that he was pretty confident that they would easily takedown 151. Also mentioned that the bowlers had something for them with the new ball. Praised Rohit Sharma and said that he was a prized wicket for their side. Also praised Akash Deep’s bowling and said that it was a brilliant bowling performance. Ended by saying that he spoke to Anuj Rawat before the tournament and that the youngster has immense talent.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will next play Chennai Super Kings at Dr DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai on the 12th of April while Mumbai Indians will battle it out with the Punjab Kings on the 13th of April at MCA Stadium in Pune.
