After Chennai Super Kings lost to newbies Lucknow Super Giants in their second game of the season, Stephen Fleming blamed the dew factor for this loss.

Chennai, batting first had made a very strong target of 210 and asked Lucknow to chase 211 in 20 overs.

In the post-match press conference, Fleming spoke on how the dew factor made the ball extremely slippery and difficult to grip for the spinners.

Thus, they excluded the spinners and gave the chance to pacers to control the run flow and take wickets.

Shivam Dube batted brilliantly in the first innings but didn’t bowl well in the 19th over. He gave away too many runs which ensured that LSG were close to finishing off the game.

Evin Lewis smashed Dube for many boundaries in that over.

Fleming said that he knew that the ball was going to get slippery in the second innings of the game.

He also added that in the recent games, the team batting second has a major advantage over the teams batting first.

CSK also do not have their frontline players such as Deepak Chahar, Adam Milne and Chris Jordan.

Thus, they have to depend on the likes of Mukesh Choudhary and Tushar Deshpande to help win games for the team.

Choudhary was recommended to CSK by Ruturaj Gaikwad who is captain of the Maharashtra team in domestic cricket.

Fleming also said that they have very young faces in the team who do not have much experience at the IPL level, especially Choudhary and Deshpande.

Fleming, however, praised his team’s commitment to defending the total although he and the team knew that it was going to be an uphill task for them to win the game.
