After getting hit on the arm while batting against the Gujarat Titans on the 6th of May, Suryakumar Yadav has been ruled out of the remainder of the IPL.

He sustained a swollen left forearm the next day that pulled down the curtains for him in this year’s IPL.

Suryakumar has been advised at least four weeks of complete rest.

This means he will miss the initial matches of the India vs South Africa series starting from June 9.

But, this does not mean that the four weeks’ rest will see SKY completely out of the India vs South Africa series. India may add his name to the squad conditionally till the time he recovers.

The upcoming home series is being seen as India’s preparation for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup in Australia.

In this year’s IPL, Suryakumar has 309 runs from 8 matches to his name which includes 3 fifties as well.

He has undergone scans in Mumbai on the 11th of May.

Suryakumar is now at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore for his rehabilitation.

A lot will also depend on the selection committee’s decision when the meeting takes place to select players for the series.

As of now, no intimation has been given by the BCCI for the same.
