Mumbai Indians’ Suryakumar Yadav is all set to play today’s game against the Rajasthan Royals.

He has fully recovered from his hairline fracture for which he has been out of action for the past month.

Zaheer Khan too confirmed Yadav’s availability for today’s match against the Royals.

But the next question was, where would Suryakumar bat? Will it be at No. 3 like he always does for Mumbai Indians?

Or will the fans and franchise see a change in spots?

To this question, Zaheer Khan said that they have kept that option flexible and it will all depend on the opposition and venue conditions.

In the Indian side, Suryakumar always comes in at No. 5 or No. 6 during matches.

But, in Mumbai Indians, he has been in prime form at the No. 3 position. He has made 1733 runs with a strike rate of 137 in the IPL for the franchise since 2018.

When he came onto the Indian scene for limited-overs cricket in 2021, he played at No. 3 against England.

On the other hand, Ishan Kishan too received an injury scare in the game against the Delhi Capitals when a Shardul Thakur delivery hit him on the toe.

He was taken for scans in the second innings and Aryan Juyal took care of keeping duties till the 9th over.

Zaheer Khan said that it was nothing to worry about and that Kishan is fine and training regularly and has prepared well for today’s match.
