In an index made by Star Sports after the recently concluded IPL Mega Auction 2022, it was found that Yuzvendra Chahal came out on top of the list.
The wiry leg-spinner went to the Rajasthan Royals for an amount of 6.50 crores.
His previous franchise, Royal Challengers Bangalore did not even make a move to buy him at the auction and thus the road became clear for the Royals.
It will be Chahal’s third IPL franchise after Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
During his RCB days, Chahal impressed one and all with his bowling performance.
But his performance was not up to the mark last year.
He then faced sacking from the RCB ahead of the auctions.
RCB, meanwhile, have got the services of Sri Lankan allrounder Wanindu Hasranga in their squad.
David Warner also went at a very low price to the Delhi Capitals although he provides so much value to any team he plays.
Nevertheless, it is Chahal’s best chance to prove himself capable enough to earn his place back in the Indian senior team.
Chahal needs to perform excellently in this year’s IPL.
