Charu Sharma, the face of cricket commentary in the 90s, was called on by IPL Chairman Brijesh Patel to conduct the IPL Mega Auctions for this year.

He came right on after auctioneer Hugh Edmeades fainted during Day 1 of the event.

Although Charu now lives a pretty normal life in Bangalore, playing golf and tennis, he still has lots of love and passion for cricket.

Sharma is the CEO of the Pro Kabaddi League and covers a variety of sports today as well.

He recently revealed that he was not even a part of the Mega Auctions in the first place.

Brijesh Patel called him and asked to come to the hotel immediately as it was nearby Sharma’s home.

He also received a briefing session before the resumption of the event.

But Charu Sharma gained huge appreciation from everyone for his auctioneering skills even though it was such short notice.

He also revealed that as he had some experience in auctioneering, it was not a difficult job for him.

This sight gave many people their childhood nostalgia as well. Charu Sharma was a very famous commentator in the late 90s and early 2000s and was a household name across India.
