In a shocking turn of events, IPL Auctioneer Hugh Edmeades fell on the floor during the bidding process of Sri Lanka’s allrounder Wanindu Hasranga.

Recent reports have stated that Edmeades is now doing well and will rejoin the auction anytime soon today.

After the incident, there was a halt of one hour after which Charu Sharma completed Day 1’s proceedings.

Hugh Edmeades had replaced Richard Madley in 2019 as the auctioneer of the IPL. He has so far conducted 2,500 auctions over 3 decades.

Many fans of cricket who take a keen interest in the auctions every year are not happy with the way Edmeades manages the show.

Many fans took to Twitter to comment that Richard Madley should take over the IPL auctions once again as he has the charisma and style to organize the event successfully whereas Edmeades looks a little bit disengaged during the process.

Madley was the auctioneer till the 2018 IPL.

Hugh Edmeades is now doing his fourth auction of the IPL.
