IPL Mega Auctions 2022 Day 1: Kishan, Deepak Chahar and Shreyas Iyer become millionaires

It was a big bidding war today on the first day of the IPL Mega Auctions as all teams shelled out lots of money.

Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan came in the big leaguers as they were picked up the Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians.

Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur also got lots of money at the auction.

During the bidding process, the auctioneer Hugh Edmeades collapsed on the floor due to postural hypotension.

Charu Sharma then took over the proceedings for the rest of the day and continued the bidding process.

Other players of interest who were picked up by the franchises were Jason Holder, Harshal Patel and Nicholas Pooran.

Shikhar Dhawan and Kagiso Rabada were picked up quickly by Punjab Kings.

Trent Boult, Pat Cummins and Faf du Plessis were also hot picks at the auction.

Lots of other top Indian and overseas players were picked up by one franchise or the other.
