Odean Smith, West Indies’ allrounder went to the Punjab Kings at the Mega Auction for 6 crores.
Smith, who played brilliantly for the West Indies in the recent ODI series against India, became an instant hot favourite in the IPL.
Even though the West Indies lost the ODI series 3-0, some of their players have managed to grab some limelight recently.
Punjab, even after purchasing 23 players at the auction, still had a purse of 3 crores left with them after the 2-day event.
Kumble told in an interview that the franchise is planning on building on a whole new team for this year’s IPL.
Kumble was happy with all the purchases and said that this year, Punjab Kings will be a stronger team than ever before.
Unfortunately, Suresh Raina did not make it to any team’s roster in this year’s IPL.
He has scored over 400 runs in every season of the IPL and has been in good form.
But, he went unsold in the auction and fans will miss his presence in the IPL.
It shows that Raina’s IPL career is now towards an end.
