As the countdown to the 15th season has begun, it has been reported that IPL has signed up 10 sponsors so far for the tournament.
The sponsors are Cred, Dream XI, Byju’s, Tots, Asian Paints, Spotify, Meesho, Swiggy Instamart, Kamala Pasand and Pepsi.
This year’s Mega auction too enjoyed a high viewership much like the 2018 auctions.
The 2-day mega event was watched both on television and on Disney+Hotstar, an OTT platform.
According to BARC, around 5 million people actively engaged themselves in watching the event.
Economic Times has stated that people watched the Mega Auction for 3.6 billion minutes this year.
The sponsorship rates have also been increased by Star. Now all sponsors will have to pay 20% of the amount to the broadcaster.
On Disney+Hotstar, more than 21.8 lakh people enjoyed viewing the Mega Auction.
In this year’s auction, 600 players took part from which 204 players were chosen by the 10 franchises ahead of the 15th season.
These 204 players include 67 foreign players as well.
