In August, Irish cricket enthusiasts are going to be thrilled to watch Ireland take on India, the world’s number one T20I team, in a three-match series at Malahide. This summer’s men’s fixture schedule will conclude with a three-match World Cup Super League series against Bangladesh, which will take place in Chelmsford. The tickets for the latter are already available for sale.

Despite losing the 2022 two-match T20I series against India, Ireland played competitively, and the matches were closely contested. India’s return for the second year in a row demonstrates their faith in Ireland’s present team’s skills and potential. This series will bring this summer’s international home fixtures to a satisfying conclusion.

IRELAND v INDIA IN AUGUST

“We extend our grateful thanks to the Bangladesh Cricket Board for fitting in matches rescheduled during the Covid era. As well as to the BCCI and Cricket West Indies for their flexibility given the uncertainties of World Cup Qualifier participation. It certainly hasn’t been an easy task to schedule these fixtures. But we achieved it and are delighted to confirm them today,”

Chief Executive of Cricket Ireland, Warren Deutrom said.

He further added:

“We will be taking on Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series. It offers us a shot at World Cup qualification. Even though they are home matches, we’ve made the decision to play the fixtures in Chelmsford. The reason for this is mostly around maximising our chances of playing the three matches – as we need to play and win the three games to qualify.”

The home series against Bangladesh is going to take place in England. The Euro T20 Slam, a concept tournament in cricket, is not going to take place in 2023, according to Cricket Ireland’s confirmation. Plans for a franchise tournament had been under development. A significant headway is underway.
